Paper Rex Crowned VALORANT Masters Toronto 2025 Champions

Paper Rex has officially claimed their first international VALORANT title after defeating Fnatic 3-1 in the grand finals of Masters Toronto 2025. The Pacific region squad, long considered one of the most consistent teams in global VALORANT, finally secured their breakthrough moment on June 23.

Unstoppable Run to the Top

Entering as the third seed from VCT Pacific, Paper Rex began their journey in the Swiss Stage, where they quickly made a statement. Once in the Playoffs, they dominated with back-to-back sweeps over G2 Esports, Sentinels, and Wolves Esports, reaching the grand finals without dropping a single map.

Fnatic, meanwhile, took the long road. Starting in the Playoffs as VCT EMEA’s top seed, they suffered an early upset loss to Gen.G. From there, they clawed their way through the lower bracket, defeating Rex Regum Qeon, Sentinels, G2, and Wolves to earn a rematch against Paper Rex.

In the finals, the momentum swung back and forth. Paper Rex narrowly took the opening map on Sunset 13–11, while Fnatic responded on Icebox with a nail-biting 17–15 win in overtime. Pearl saw Paper Rex flip the script with an aggressive second half to close it 13–10. The decider on Lotus was equally dramatic — Fnatic rallied late to take a brief lead, but Paper Rex held strong to close the match 14–12.

With this result, Paper Rex not only take home the $350,000 prize but also earn 7 VCT points toward Champions qualification.

f0rsakeN Named MVP

Jason “f0rsakeN” Susanto was awarded the MVP of the tournament for his outstanding all-round performance. Known for his adaptability and aggressive playstyle, f0rsakeN played a key role in multiple maps, securing vital rounds and anchoring team momentum throughout the event.

His ability to switch roles seamlessly and deliver in high-pressure moments was instrumental in Paper Rex’s title run, solidifying his place among the elite in global VALORANT.

A Historic Victory for the Pacific Region

This win represents more than just a trophy for Paper Rex — it marks a major moment for Pacific VALORANT. After near-misses at past international events, including runner-up finishes and top-four placings, Paper Rex has now joined Gen.G and T1 as the only Pacific teams to win a VALORANT Masters title.

Their roster — f0rsakeN, Jinggg, d4v41, something, PatMen, and mindfreak — has evolved over the years but stayed largely intact, showing rare consistency in a constantly shifting competitive landscape.

With their championship win, Paper Rex has not only made history but also redefined expectations for what Pacific teams can achieve on the world stage.
