
S8UL Esports has emerged as the champions of the inaugural Legends Ascend South Asia 2025, capping off four months of intense competition across the region. Their victory not only earns them the championship trophy but also a coveted berth at the League of Legends Championship Pacific (LCP) Wild Card Playoffs, scheduled for August 28–31, 2025.
From Qualifiers to Champions
Launched in April 2025 by Riot Games in partnership with Aftermath Ventures, Legends Ascend South Asia was designed to create a structured competitive pathway for League of Legends players across the region. The tournament featured 95 teams from India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Maldives, and Bhutan, all vying for a share of the ₹10,00,000 prize pool.
The competition began with three open qualifiers in April and May, from which nine teams advanced to the Round Robin Stage. Standout teams included S8UL Esports, Kakao Gaming, PnX ASCENSION, Revenants, SUVO HATERS, Jetfire’s Dojo, Syndicate, Poro Patrol, and Report Precog Gaming.
In June and July, these squads battled it out in the league phase, with S8UL Esports, Kakao Gaming, Revenants, and Syndicate making it to the playoffs. The Double Elimination Playoffs in July and August brought high-pressure best-of-three and best-of-five matches, where S8UL impressed with strategic drafting and consistent execution. They defeated Kakao Gaming in the finals to claim the title.

A Landmark Esports Event for the Region
Over its 29-day broadcast schedule, Legends Ascend South Asia reached more than 7 lakh viewers through Aftermath Ventures’ FragNation channel, with over 1.3 lakh YouTube views. Additionally, 12 grassroots community watch parties across South Asia generated another 1.25 lakh views, highlighting the growing enthusiasm for competitive League of Legends in the region.
The tournament’s success reflects Riot Games’ long-term vision for building sustainable esports ecosystems in South Asia. By providing a clear route from amateur competition to the global stage, Legends Ascend has given regional players a realistic shot at competing with the world’s best.
Next Stop: The LCP Wild Card Playoffs
With their win, S8UL Esports will represent South Asia in the LCP Wild Card Playoffs, where they will face elite teams from across the Asia-Pacific. A strong performance could secure them promotion to LCP 2026, placing them among the top-tier League of Legends teams in the region.
