Valorant Joins Esports World Cup 2025: Teams, Format, and Prize Pool
The Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025 is set to introduce Valorant as a featured title, marking a significant milestone in the game’s competitive landscape. Scheduled from July 8 to 13 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, this event will bring together top-tier teams from around the globe.

Tournament Structure and Schedule
The Valorant segment of EWC 2025 will commence with a group stage, where 16 teams will be divided into four groups. Each group will engage in a double-elimination format, commonly known as GSL. The top two teams from each group will advance to the playoffs, which will follow a single-elimination bracket. Leading to a 3 day Quarter Finals, Semi Finals and Grand Finals.
Participating Teams and Qualification
While the official list of participating teams has yet to be announced, the EWC Foundation has introduced a Club Partner Program, enlisting 40 elite esports organizations. Notably, many of these clubs are active in Valorant, including prominent names like Sentinels, EDward Gaming, T1, Gen.G, and ZETA DIVISION.
However, it’s important to note that involvement in the Club Partner Program does not automatically secure a spot in the tournament.
Prize Pool and Significance
The EWC 2025 boasts a groundbreaking total prize pool exceeding $60 million, the largest in esports history. While the exact allocation for the Valorant tournament hasn’t been specified, this substantial prize fund underscores the event’s prominence.
Venue and Fan Engagement
The tournament will be hosted at Boulevard Riyadh City, a premier venue in Saudi Arabia’s capital. Attendees can anticipate a vibrant festival atmosphere, featuring gaming activations, opportunities to meet esports stars, and immersive experiences designed to engage fans deeply.
The inclusion of Valorant in the EWC for the next three years signifies the game’s escalating stature in the global esports arena. As the event approaches, fans and participants alike eagerly await further announcements regarding team selections and detailed scheduling.
